“Do You Believe in Magic?” is playing, but in reality, it’s not teasing the upcoming segment. It’s an overture to the one before. The one with her! Her magic is soaring. It’s reached a point of overdose! Rushed to the hospital! On the stretcher by the door, the EMT dramatically says, “He’s trying to tell us something!! What is it??” I whisper, “Bring all my posts!” And Jakey jumps into the back, and I’m carted away like Brad Pitt in that movie. The doctors rush to determine “cause of bliss.” When you whisper her name, even in your delightful demise, you ride the A, and pronounce the T, that sends a soft ‘e’ off into ecstasy. And they bow their heads solemnly, and say, “Yes. It’s going around.” As her wonder does! It’s going in circles, through magical rivers, and soaring up grandest Christmas pine trees! She’s everywhere you want to be. Like in that Visa report she gave a few weeks before. It’s not about the card, it’s in the way she plays hers. The way she shuffles the deck. Coming up aces, and a full suite of hearts. She can report on sad human failings, and yet you’re uplifted. You hear every word. And you’re enraptured by her. She doesn’t live down there. No, she lifts you up. She lights up the sky. And so do you. All because you looked into her eyes. And it’s your soul that’s healed. And you get all excited! You say, “I’m going to get even better! In every sort of way!” Not in any hope of winning her over. Or even in the slightest chance of being a friend someday. She simply brings it all out of you, this promise of something better. Of being your best self. It’s something in her brilliance. And in her wondrous beauty. It’s a divine message that arrives from her eyes. And you’re healed! You rise from your hospital bed. You ask to be discharged, and not a doctor or a nurse is to be found. And the guy in the other bed dramatically whispers, “They’ve all come down with it, too.” It’s a pandemic of the most wondrous kind! This love for her. This utter adoration. Like the earth itself and all that circles it, it’s going around. And the guy next to you is passing away. Oh, no! You ask him what did it. And his final words are, “Your insufferable prose.” But you know what will revive him! Her look and her nod. That will pull him through! And now he sees her, too! And, indeed, he rises up from the bed! Another miracle has taken place! And, for her, it’s just another day! She’s that kind of magic!! She’s that kind of wonder! She’s this wonderful gift from God. She’s lifted my soul! And, with mine, everybody else’s, too! So, when asked, after witnessing her beauty, “Do you believe in magic?” You assuredly answer, “Yes! Oh, yes! I do!!” If nobody said it today, Thank you! 😊♥️
